The team consisted of 9 players who all played well but were defeated 5.5 - 3.5. The course was in excellent condition and the match was played in good weather conditions.
I would like to thank Captain Gail and her Vice Captain Fiona for organising the match and thanks also go to Broomiknowe G.C. for the excellent food served before and after the match.

This is also the qualifier for the Senior Championship knock-out stages at Refrew G.C on Monday the 18th and Tuesday the 19th May.
Lesley Robertson was the leading scratch qualifier and winner of the Heather Anderson Trophy for the best scratch score.
The Summer Salver for the best net score was won by Lynn Black

We teed off our 2026 season with the Soring Meeting at West Kilbride Golf Club. 97 Ladies played.
The weather was very kind to us considering the course was closed the previous afternoon

A great time was had by the West ladies at Blairgowerie. Both courses were in magnificient condition and the sun was shining for the three days!!! Congratulations to Lesley Robertson who was runner up in the Championship. The Patrick Rosebowl was won by Josephine Monaghan with a superb score if 64. Cat 65-69 age group was won by Alison Campbell Team trophy( Division with best 3 nett scores) was won by the West consisting of Josephine Monaghan, Gill McGinlay and Marie Kirk

Autumn Meeting, Hamilton Golf Club
Our final event of 2025 was played at Hamilton Golf Club today in bright sunshine.
The course was in magnificent condition considering it had been closed yesterday due to recent heavy rain. Many of our members were playing the course for the first time and were very complimentary about the course as well as the warm welcome extended to us by everyone at the club.
The Autumn Salver for the best net score was won by Lynn Hain, Hilton Park, who had an excellent 69 against the par of 72.

The annual scratch match against Midland Seniors was played on the Keir Course at Cawder Golf Club. This match was originally scheduled for May but had to be cancelled due to the course being closed due to flooding. The course was in excellent condition and the matches were played in warm, sunny conditions.
The games were all played in a very sporting manner with West retaining the trophy.

The 54th AGM was attended by 34 Ladies with 74 Apologies received.
Captain Lesley gave a full report of the years golfing events, and advised that all events had been well supported by members, and congratulated all prize winners on their achievements,
A special mention was given to Pauline Patrick, Irvine Golf Club for winning the Scratch prizes across the Spring, Summer and Autumn Meetings as well as having the best overall net score in the Spring and Autumn meetings.
Captain Lesley asked all present to join her in congratulating Gilian Kyle on an outstanding golfing year and finishing the season as the winner of the Scottish Senior Woman's Golf Order of Merit.

Congratulations to Isabel Cullen and Louise Walker on winning the Beddows Quaich Greensomes with a magnificent 45 points. Another couple from the West, Marie Kirk and Jennifer Wiles, were third with 42 points. Fantastic scoring ladies and well done to all!
Gillian Kyle represented West Vets in the SVLGA Championship at Blairgowrie.
In yesterday’s quarter finals she beat Ann Sewell, East Division Champion then in this morning’s semi final she beat Sheena Wood, Northern Division Champion.
In the final Gillian played Martine Pow the Borders Champion. It was a closely contested match with Martine winning at the 17th.
Well done to Gillian on a fine performance over the last couple of days and for representing the West in this event.
